The Ministry of Justice sought evidence on how it can support and strengthen the openness of court and tribunal services. The call for evidence follows on from the Justice Select Committee’s inquiry into how digital technology has affected open justice. In its response the MLA identified a number issues its members thought should be prioritised: facilitating media access to court materials; improving the provision to the media of listings and case information; and ensuring that the media are properly notified of, and given a meaningful opportunity to contest, Reporting Restriction Orders.
